Funeral services for Benjamin V. Elkins, Mo.Pacific Engineer,who dies monday morning at his home, 1700 S. Warren.Services will be held at 2:30 Wed afternoon at the East Sedalia Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Arnold officiating. Pallbears will be W.E. Johnson, Roy Lierman,W.G. Martin, N.L. Brown, T.H.Day, and H.W. Martessen. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mr Elkins was born Dec. 21, 1872 in Adair Co. Ia., the son of the late Paul Richmond Elkins and Rossetta Rayward Elkins. On Dec 8,1896 he married Emma Mae Grimes.Two sons were born in this marriage.Walter E. Elkins, who died in action in WWI, and Claude Elkins of Stover. On Mar 6, 1910 he married Dora Ann Dinwiddie, who preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1938. Two dau and one son was born to this union. They are Laverna, now Mrs Geo Wesner of KC and Sva Mae, now Mrs. T. M. Sugg of St Louis and one son Vernon Ivan(Bud) of Sedalia. On Feb 8,1943 he married Martha R. Robertson of Kalispell, Montana, who survives.
Surviving besides the wife and children are 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs Lucy Ramsey of Vally Center Ks. Three bro and 2 sisters proceeded him in death.
Mr Elkins was an engineer on the Eagle and had been with the Mo. Pacific Railroad for 57 yrs. He was an Engineer on that road for 44 yrs. He retired only 4 wks ago.
He became a member of the East Sedalia Baptist Curch in 1910. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
The body was taken to the McLaughlin Funeral Home.

Benjamin married Dora Ann Dinwiddie, daughter of James Blatchen Dinwiddie and Martha Jane Finley, on 6 Mar 1910. (Dora Ann Dinwiddie was born on 29 Mar 1885 in Morgan County, Missouri and died on 27 Jan 1938 in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri.)
