Immigration: November 10, 1868 Arr New York on ship Westphalia from Hamburg, Germany. Germans to America CD has her listed in 1868 as Jenny Preuss, age 20, single. No other Preuss aboard, so apparently came to USA alone, two years before their marriage. Jenny may have been a younger sister or niece of Albert Preuss, who married Cord's older sister Anna Gehlken, and Anna Gehlken Preuss was a sponsor of Cord & Jenny's firstborn Anna.
Cord & Jenny were married "at the residence of and by Sidney C. Jones, J.P." and recorded Morgan County, MO as "Cord Gelkin & Jane Price." Their first two kids are recorded Pyrmont Lutheran Church, but next two in records of Lake Creek Methodist Church of S.E. Pettis County, MO identified as members of the Ebenezer ME congregation near Florence, MO.
