William Self Sr

  General Notes:

William Self was found in the Florida Parish, Louisiana in 1810, according to
state papers (Vol 3, Page 65, claim west of Pearl River, abstract of
actual settlers). William Self claimant by settlement in 1810 of
Section 49, of 637 acres (Located west of the River Tangaphoa in the
St. Helena Parish, LA.).

#73551 Interested in parents or siblings of WILLIAM SELF, will proved
in 1791, in Cumberland County, VA., naming children: Thomas, William,
Kezekiah Hucheaba, Jinne Farmer, Jemima Homeley, Frances Ann Ramsey
(born 1763), Sarah Woolston (Walston), and Susannah (who md. James
Smith 1793). William was living in Prince Edward County, VA., in 1779
when he bought land in Bedford County in an area that became Campbell
County by 1782. Sold land in Campbell County in 1786. In Cumberland
County by 1782 (tax list). His son Thomas is said to have migrated to
Green County, KY.

WANTED: A copy of the marriage certificate of James Ramsey and Frances
Ann Self, dated about 1784. There was supposedly a copy included with
Frances Ann's original request for a Revolutionary Pension. Frances
Ann was the son of William Self (see "Descendants of John Self," page
3 of "Family Album"), and she died Aug. 3, 1848. If you have a copy of

William married Dicey Vaughn, daughter of William Vaughn and Unknown, on 21 Jan 1796 in Bedford County, Virginia. (Dicey Vaughn was born on 29 Dec 1776 in Bedford County, Virginia.)

William next married Jemima Partridge on 6 Sep 1778 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. (Jemima Partridge was born about 1760.)
