He became a Baptist preacher and rode hoseback to preacher in many of the Baptist Church's in Morgan County, Mo. To name a few Mt. Olive, Mt. Carmel, and the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Florence, Mo.

Funeral of L. C. Thomas
The funeral of Logan Crawford Thomas of the Thomas Publishing Company at 111 East Second Street, who died suddenly Tuesday afternoon while presiding over the annual session of the Harmony Baptist association at Antioch Church near Manila, was held this afternoon at the First Baptist Church.
Rev. R. M. Inlow, the pastor, officiated, assisted by Dr. S. M. Brown of Kansas City, one of the editors of the official Baptist paper, "The Word and Way', who is attending the meeting at the Antioch church. The music was furnished by the church choir, with several songs by the church quartet. The following friends served as pallbearers: W. O. Stanley, Dan Dean, Dr. Carlisle Taylor, Rev. B. Dinwiddie, A. J. Farley, William Harbaugh, William Ross, and E. L. Calvert. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Benjamin married Eliza Ann Mosley, daughter of Bletcher Mosley and Elizabeth Johnson, on 2 Feb 1837 in Florence, Morgan County, Missouri. (Eliza Ann Mosley was born on 23 Aug 1818 in Tennesse, died on 16 Nov 1863 in Morgan County, Missouri and was buried in Finley Cemetery Morgan County Florance, Mo.)

Benjamin next married Mary Wilson Finley, daughter of William Finley and Sarah Unknown, on 9 Feb 1865. (Mary Wilson Finley was born on 28 Aug 1822 in Tennesse, died on 20 Mar 1908 in Morgan County, Missouri and was buried in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Florence, Morgan County, Missouri.)
