Frank E. Vaughn, Aug 1967-"Knob Noster Item" Newspaper: Frank E. Vaughn, 76, died Mon. at the Bothwell Hosp. in Sedalia, Mo where he had been a patient since Fri. after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Jeff. Co., Ill. on Nov. 19, 1889 and was the son of John Ellis and Frances Ellen (Sledge) Vaughn. On Jan 16, 1916 he married to Katie A. Thomas of near LaMonte. He spent his life as a farmer and stockman near LaMonte and Knob Noster Communities and the couple celebrated their golden wedding last yr. Mr. Vaughn was a long time member of the Knob Noster Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Katie, one son, Robert E. Vaughn of Knob Noster and one daughter Mrs. Keith (Cora) Hansen of LaMonte, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Rough, Mt. Vernon, Ill., Mrs. Ethel Quillin, Okl. and Mrs. Nina Donahoo of Colorado, six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by 3 brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Wed. afternoon at the Knob Noster Baptist Church. Burial was in the Knob Noster Cem.

From the Knob Noster, Missouri Item Open house was held at the Knob Noster Baptist Church Sun. afternoon Jan. 16th (1996) in observance of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vaughn. The celebration was arranged by their children and app. 90 relatives and friends called during the afternoon. The choir of the LaMonte Baptist church presented a program of sacred songs. The serving table which was covered with a white crocheted cloth over gold was centered with white cakes in the shape of an open bible with the inscription in gold icing "Happy 50th Anniversary" and "I have been young and now I am old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken". Back of the cakes was an arrangement of yellow roses and gladioli and gold tapers in crystal holders were on each side. Cake with the "50" numeral was served with punch, mints and nuts by Mrs. Eugene Vaughn of Ks. City and Mrs. Donnie Vaughn of Sedalia, granddaughters-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn. Mrs Vaughn crocheted the table cloths which were used on the serving and gift tables. The cakes were baked by a daughter Mrs. Keith Hansen of LaMonte, and were decorated by a granddaughter Mrs. Harold Finke of Ks. City... Miss Gaye Hansen of LaMonte was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Vaughn is the former Katie Thomas, daughter of the late J.R. and Elizabeth Dinwiddie Thomas. She was born near Florence, Morgan Co., Mr. Vaughn is the son of the late John Ellis and Frances Ellen Vaughn, was born near Mt. Vernon, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn were married at the home of Mrs. Vaughn's parents No. of LaMonte Jan. 16, 1916. The Rev. Zack Osborne pastor of the County Line Baptist Church performed the ceremony. The have the one daughter Mrs. Hansen and one son Robert Edward Vaughn, Knob Noster, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Both Mr. and Mrs. VAughn are members of the Knob Noster Baptist Church.
